Title: Mobile Graphic Designer Type: Contract to perm - 3 months Location: Atlanta, GA Summary and Responsibilities: Our client is looking for a UI Designer to design the user experience primarily for mobile and tablet platforms.
As part of a cross-functional team (product, development, marketing, etc), the candidate will be responsible for the UI architecture, interaction flow, branding, visual design, and usability for the features and content development on these growth platforms. Product design and development is often iterative. Candidate may also be responsible for leading the UI Design of a cross-platform product implementation and must ensure the experience appropriately connects across all platforms (ie, mobile, desktop, etc.) so design experience with other interactive channels is important. The ideal candidate has a strong sense for visual design, interaction design, usability, typography, and color. They must have a passion for user-centered design. An appreciation for brand management and the ability to translate core principles and assets into cross-platform design elements is critical. Your portfolio must demonstrate a depth of experience with emphasis on user-interface design for mobile applications with complex data-driven web sites or multi-screen applications is desired. The ideal candidate is metric sensitive and understands that success is based on meeting both customer and business goals. The candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, display good communication skills, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Position reports to the Interactive Creative Director. Specific Responsibilities: Collaborate with product teams to design and develop quality products that are: brand-right, user-focused, easy to use, accountable to business objectives, and delivered on time Work with internal customers to understand their design needs and timelines and set realistic expectations about what can be delivered and when and then follow through Produce all user interface deliverables (as appropriate) for a project including: concept demos, site maps, wireframes, mockups, spec docs, etc. Translate your designs into functional prototypes for user testing. Work closely with usability (as applicable) to better understand the user, test the usability of features and conceptual designs, and refine designs to improve the user experience Must be able to accurately and efficiently specify and cut assets for product production Work with Development on presentation standards (eg, CSS) to support product consistency and efficiency Grow the brand by supporting corporate, network, and interactive product alignment through design Collaborate within the rest of the Design team to develop style standards for interactive channels and consistently apply them with each project. Actively present style recommendations and contribute written guidelines and specs to a style guide Should encourage and support production tests of design elements to optimize performance and achieve business goals May be called up on to create rich media ad products May be called upon to create promotional ad banners of internal products (eg, network TV shows, new phone release) Must be able to quickly turn a high-level design concept in support of an advertising sales pitch Supports the unity and growth of the team by providing creative ideas and constructive feedback to other designers Key Qualifications: Skills and Experience: Must have a strong online portfolio that should include work showcasing mobile experience design. Your portfolio of work should also show a distinct visual point of view as well as the ability to adapt that point of view to the unique needs of a specific client and project BA/BS degree in design, marketing, communications, Human Factors, or a related field At least 5 years experience in the field of interaction design Mobile web design experiences for smart and feature phone platforms Mobile applications design for iOS, Android, Blackberry, Palm and other smart phone platforms B2C web-based products or website design Designing for iPad and netbooks is desired Proficiency with smart phone SDKs like: iOS, Android, WebOS, and more Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop and Illustrator is required, other CS applications Proficiency working on Macintosh platform Gathering and assessing business requirements from product and segment representatives Ability to design and deliver a UX that is rich, immersive, pleasing, simple, and easy to navigate Creating early conceptual designs, demonstrating innovation Site mapping, interaction flows and maps, and wire framing Ability to deliver navigation design, online content organization, IA/taxonomy creation and search optimization Design complete suite of screens that effectively deliver on business goals and requirements Facilitate development of product prototypes for usability testing and proof-of-concept purposes Experience with focus group research and usability testing is desired Producing detailed page schematics and specifications. Works the with the Technology Team to understand the documented technology standards for the platform and browser/OS specifications and bears responsibility to ensure all UX assets track to technology and program standards Solid ability to deliver CSS, and HTML/HTML5, XHTML, Flash, Action script, and JavaScript Ability to create and design Ad Creatives, including Rich Media ads (video ads, expandable ads etc). Working with social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, SMS/Mobile) Has worked with Personas Is an evangelist in designing for customer needs Knowledge and experience developing cohesive brand experiences.
